rooms , ownership and affiliation etc. And now I will tell you about
Classification of hotels according to the target market.
Hotel target many markets and can be classified according to the markets

Each of hotels should be classified. The Hotel and Restaurants Approval
and Classification Committee (HRACC) set up by the Department classifies
the functioning hotels under the star system into six categories from
one to 5-star Deluxe: 1star, 2 star, 3 star, Heritage, 4 star, 5 star
and 5 star Deluxe.
It is quite strange, that so far in the hotel industry has not appeared
a unified classification system for the hotel rooms. Of course, today
almost any modern hotel has at its disposal standard rooms and suites.
But often the same category of rooms in different hotels may imply different
living conditions. The class of the room in the hotel mostly depends
on the structure of the hotel itself. The world classification distinguishes more than 30 different types
of rooms. The type of the hotel room can depend on the view from the window, the number and
the size of rooms, the quality of furniture, the content of mini-bar
and the availability of office equipment. In addition to the classification
of rooms there is a classification of accommodation. There 3 main category.
Standard rooms, also referred to as single rooms or single-occupancy
rooms, are the oldest type of rooms in the hotel business. They are
typically good value for money, cozy and comfortable. Standard rooms
are equipped with basic amenities and are generally the most affordable.
Their price depends on various factors, including the view from their
windows, design and type of furniture, the softness of the beds and
so on.
Deluxe rooms are typically among the most expensive in a hotel. Deluxe rooms are
larger than standard rooms in size and differ between hotels in their
degrees of comfort. They are equipped with basic and bonus amenities,
including free access to a fitness center or pool, massage sessions,
tours, alcoholic drinks and desserts. Deluxe rooms usually offer specific
views: sea view, mountain view, garden view or inside view.
Suites are small apartments that accommodate families or large
parties. There are several types of suites, including super suites,
standard suites and junior suites. They are equipped with standard amenities,
including high-speed Internet, television and telephone. Standard suites
are ideal for business travelers. Junior suites are large rooms that
sightly exceed standard rooms in size. Junior suites are priced according
to their size, amenities and opulence. They are perfect for honeymooners,
vacationers and business people.
Choosing the right hotel for your vacation is probably
the most important factor in whether your holiday will be a success. Whether
you’re traveling for business or pleasure, finding the right place
to stay is essential for a successful trip. When you start to think about
what you want from a hotel, you should consider the following factors:
Budget, Amenities, Safety, How adventurous you are, How important comfort
is to you, Location – Do you value nightlife or tranquility?, Will
you have a family with you – what will they do?As you can see, there
are a good number of different factors that you should consider before
you can make a decision.
- Hotel services, facilities and
amenities
Nowadays people travel
on business and as tourists more than in the past. No businessman can
avoid being a paying guest every now and then. In big cities there are
a lot of good hotels. Accommodations as well as rates vary from hotel
to hotel. There are deluxe hotels, the most luxurious and the most expensive,
resort hotels used for entertainment or recreation. Rooms in most hotels
have all modern conveniences: central heating, air conditioning, bathroom,
hairdryer, trouser press, telephone, satellite TV and others.
But we should distinguish such definitions as services, facilities and
amenities.
Service is a system that supplies something that people need. In hotel this are housekeeping service, butler
service, 24-hour room service, concierge. Facility is a place, especially including buildings, where a particular activity happens. For example, swimming pool, health and fitness
facilities, business facilities, children’s facilities, garden or
terrace. And Amenity is a something,
that is intended to make life more pleasant or comfortable for the people in a town, hotel, or otherplace. In hotel such are mini-bar in rooms, TV, free Wi-Fi,
air-conditioning.
If to speak about types of hotels according to the service, we can define
the followings:
World class service: - These
are also called luxury hotels , they target top business executives,
entertainment celebrities , high- ranking political figures, and wealthy
clientele as their primary markets . They provide upscale restaurants
and lounges , concierge services and also private dining facilities
. Guestrooms are oversized , heated and plush bath towels , large soaps
bars , shampoo , shower caps and all amenities . Housekeeping services
are given two times a day including turn-down service .
Mid-Range Service: - Hotels offering mid-range service appeal it the
largest segment of the travelling public . This kind of hotels does
not provide elaborate service and have an adequate staffing . They also
provide uniformed service , food and beverage room service, in room
entertainment's and also Wi-Fi . Property may offer a speciality restaurant
, coffee shop and lounge that cater to visitors as well as hotel guests
. Type of guests who like to stay at these hotels are business people
, individual travellers ,and families .
Economy / Limited Service: These hotels provide clean , comfortable , safe ,
inexpensive rooms and meet the basic need of guests . Economy hotels
appeal primarily to budget minded travellers who wants a room with minimum
services and amenities required for comfortable stay, without unnecessary
paying additional cost for costly services .
A person using a wheelchair would be much less "handicapped"
in a building and surroundings that are wheelchair accessible, the extent
of the handicap to an individual relates directly to accessibility.
A lot of hotels provide handicap facilities, such as Wheelchair ramps,
Grab bars and handrails, Folding shower and tub seats, Special offset
swing clear hinges, Commercial washroom accessories.
Many families travel with children. And for them, of course, hotels
have special services and facilities. For example children’s playrooms ,
colourful programs , qualified child care , baby swimming, music and dance
evenings , baby care and others.
So, I should say that our future visit in the hotel again will depend
on services, facilities and amenities which this hotel provided to us.
