I. Use the nouns in the plural.

1. These are red cars. 2. These are my friends. 3. These are  nice women. 4. These are black cats. 5. These are tall men. 6. There are  big dogs. 7. There are their bikes. 8. There are pretty little children. 9. There are thin note-books. 10. There are English boys.

 

II. Use: “am, are, is, have, has”:

The cat is in the box. 2. Have you a cousin? 3. I am a student. 4. Mr. Brown has a daughter. 5. Those cars are red. 6. She has a large family. 7. Nick is my good friend. 8. Is she from England?

 

III. Use: “my, your, his, her, its, our, their”:

1. Mr. and Mrs. Brown have two children. Both their children are boys. 2. Miss Smith is a teacher. Her students are German. 3. We are French. Our friends are English. 4. You are in Bristol but your family is in York. 5. I have a small cat. My cat is very funny. 6. My daughter has a dog. Its nose is long. 7. My friends have a new car. Their car is very nice. 8. Mary has a new bag. Her bag is very big.

 

IV. Измените, где необходимо, форму глагола (Present Simple, Present Continuous):

1. He smokes ten cigarettes a day. 2. I like black coffee. 3. Mary is in the kitchen. She is cooking dinner. 4. I find London a beautiful city. 5. She speaks four languages. 6. The sun rises in the East. 7. Joe has flat in Kiev.

 

V. Поставьте глаголы в Past Simple или Past Continuous:

1. Last year I decided to go to England for my holidays. 2. When I left Kiev it was raining but when I arrived in London it cleared up. A cold wind was blowing from the sea. 3. I went to my hotel by bus. As soon as I sang in I saw a friend of mine from the USA. She stayed at the same hotel. In the afternoon we went shopping. 4. We were listening to their chatter trying to understand them.

I studied English at school. 2. From 1991 to 1997 Jim worked as a customer officer. 3. How many pages have you read? 4. When he was a sales representative he worked twelve hours a day. 5. He hasn’t finished his work yet and is not ready to go with us.
