Osteology — this doctrine about bones. During life at the person more than 800 separate bone elements are formed, the others are formed of them 270 in the pre-natal period — after the birth. The most part of separate bone elements grows together among themselves and in this regard the skeleton of the adult contains only 206 bones. Bones together with their connections in a human body make a skeleton (fig.1 and 2) which carries out various functions in an organism.
