Dear Mr. Jones,
Our college has received a critical external report on sport provisions and you have to admit, that our administration works insufficiently and even disregards our students’ needs, their health and well-being. You have freezed the development of the youth sport preferring to rent out college’s hall to the general public. As a result of your policy, number of wins by college teams last year decreased dramatically, especially in the tennis and football tournaments. Students couldn’t train in the gyms, because they had been already booked by aerobics amateurs.
As well as these endless bookings, we are concerned about the problem of the hall’s bad state of repair. The ceiling of the main hall is in a terrible condition and our sporting equipment is worn out. Students are forced to bring their own tennis balls and rackets. As a head of our administration you should set the record straight, even if our college has a difficult time financially.
The sports committee strongly recommends you to apply for the national funding program, which gives wide opportunities to upgrade and enlarge sport facilities of the educational institutions.
Set wheels in motion to receive this money and give priority to the team practices of students not to the general public. We have prepared a short list of needed actions to revive our college’s sport life. Firstly, you should place less emphasis on bookings and reduce their number. Secondly, it is necessary to build a new hall for volleyball and fund a new college team. This kind of sport is rather popular among our students and in the nearest future they would reach the top of national league. Thirdly, our sporting equipment needs to be renewed.
All in all, our decisions should not be only quick fixes: it is essential to back the establishment of the sport center and popularize physical culture among our students. We urge you, Mr. Jones, to act with due diligence and solve this problem as soon as possible.
