The GDP per capita is the 22nd-highest in the world in nominal terms and 22nd-highest measured by PPP. In 2012, the UK was the 10th-largest exporter in the world and the 6th-largest importer. The UK imports in 6 times more manufactured goods than raw materials. The most significant exporter of Great Britain is the United States. The British economy comprises (in descending order of size) the economies of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

The GDP per capita is the 22nd-highest in the world in nominal terms and 22nd-highest measured by PPP. In 2012, the UK was the 10th-largest exporter in the world and the 6th-largest importer. The UK imports in 6 times more manufactured goods than raw materials. The most significant exporter of Great Britain is the United States. The British economy comprises (in descending order of size) the economies of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The UK has one of the world's most globalised economies. One-sixth of the tax revenue comes from VAT (value added tax) from the consumer market of the British Economy.

The service sector dominates the UK economy. On the services sector in the UK accounts for about 2/3 of the country's GDP. In it the basic share (about 40 %) is occupied by business and financial services. The share of public services is 35 %, trade - 19 %. Hotel services are the 5 % of the entire market . Turnover in the service sector in the UK in 2006 was worth 221 5 billion pounds. Foreign trade services UK has positive balance. In 2006, the total volume of exports of services amounted to 125,6 billion pounds and increased relative to 2005 by 9.8 %. The leading positions in the export of occupied financial services.

From 2001 to 2007, the average monthly wage in the UK increased from 2840 to 3220 Euro. By 2009, it decreased to 2640 Euro. External debt is $1,959 trillion. (11th place after the USA.) and is 75% of GDP.
