The Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake is an annual event held on the Spring Bank Holiday at Cooper’s Hill near Gloucester in the Cotswolds region of England It is traditionally by and for the people of Brockworth – the local village, but now people from all over the world take part. The event takes its name from the hill on which it occurs. The 2010 event has been cancelled due to safety concerns over the number of people visiting the event but it is hoped that it will be held on the late May Bank Holiday in 2011. Due to the steepness and uneven surface of the hill there are usually a number of injuries, ranging from sprained ankles to broken bones and concussion. Cooper’s Hill Cheese Rolling has been summarized as “twenty young men chase a cheese off a cliff and tumble 200 yards to the bottom, where they are scraped up by paramedics and packed off to hospital”.

A long time ago, I flew with my husband and two babies from Texas to London, in Great Britain. We flew at night so that our two babies would sleep and we could rest. But as it turned out, the babies cried the entire 11 hours, so we walked the Atlantic Ocean, my husband marching up and down one aisle, carrying the 17-month-old, while I staggered up and down the other aisle with the 6-month-old sprout. Both infants had colds, so I had asked the pediatrician for medication that would help them breathe better. BP has published a report on the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico happened on 20th April which led to one of the world's worst oil pollution incidents. BP said: "The investigation found that no single factor caused the Macondo well tragedy. A sequence of failures involving a number of different parties led to the explosion and fire which killed 11 people. It caused widespread pollution in the Gulf of Mexico destroying the habitat of many species". The report was compiled by technical experts from within BP and from outside and took four months to complete.

Grammatically the verb is the most complex part of speech. Famine early warning systems have a good track record of predicting food shortages but are poor at triggering early action, a report has concluded.
The study said the opportunity for early action was being missed by governments and humanitarian agencies.
It said the "disconnect" was starkly apparent in Somalia where no action was taken despite 11 months of warnings.
Up to two million people are estimated to have died in drought-related emergencies since 1970.
The report by UK think-tank Chatham House, Managing Famine Risk: Linking Early Warning to Early Action, looked at the issue of drought-related emergencies on a global scale but focused on the Horn of Africa and the Sahel regions.
